My work has two main drives behind it. First of all I have a great passion for illustrating surreal and dark ideas or stories, whether written by myself or others - I love the struggle with getting the imagery out in an interesting
fashion that doesn't just compliment the text but that gives the idea or story an extra dimension.Secondly, I've always loved experimental imagery, which is why I really do feel that printmaking, etching in particular, is the perfect means for me to express myself. The nature of etching means that constant experimentation is possible, and it is this element of unpredictability that I try to capture in my work to keep an edge of excitement about it.
