Whilst I would consider myself first and foremost to be a fine art printmaker I do not easily fit into this stereotype image. I usually find my work starts off very illustrative with sketches and ideas which can then progress to being quite graphical and transforms into something very abstract. This can be seen in my recent work where I initially took images of a grass-track bike and by experimenting with colour and form, broke down the bikes harsh structure. I then started to dismantle it and used scale and repetition to disguise its harsh features. It was from there and the influences of Rorschach that led me to create my own series of inkblots out of parts of the bike using mirror imaging . This is where the fun really started! xxx
