I use art and particularly printmaking as a way to escape. For me, the process of designing and creating a plate is as important as the resulting print. I enjoy creating detailed work that I can lose myself in. Occasionally I create abstract pieces, in order to express something that I would otherwise be unable to explain. I recently did a series of prints that were visual representations of the way certain food tastes or feels as it is eaten. Artists that have influenced me include Edward Bawden, Audrey Niffenegger and M. C. Escher.
